From Memory Bears to our new Doggy Bow Ties

Smug Jelly began when I was having hospital treatment back in 2012. It was necessary for me to spend many hours sat around waiting, due to the possibility of severe side effects of a new drug I was trialling for the NHS. I began hand stitching small hanging hearts to keep myself occupied.  Since then, I have done many sewing workshops to learn new skills which have “snowballed” into the varied items I now create.”

“The name “Smug Jelly” came from our beautiful Jack Russell dog, Jasper, who sadly passed away in June 2022. He was an absolute little star and if any dog could be almost human, it was him! He had such an adorable face, always full of the funniest expressions, one of which was smugness. His little nickname was “Jelly”. The name “Smug Jelly” was born.”
